Some people believe that hobbies need to be difficult to be enjoyable. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

One doesn’t have to look far, in current circumstances throughout the world, to see that hobbies play a significant role in one’s enjoyment. There is a school of thought which contends that leisure activities should be hard to enjoy. Conversely, others argue that hobbies do not need to be tough to delight in. To my way of thinking, I have to agree with later view.

To begin with, it is immediately apparent that in today’s hectic life style, everyone wants to engage themselves into various leisure events which can help them to relax, refresh and recharge.  The level of toughness for these events can be hard or easy. However, based on personal experience, I can say that a difficult hobby doesn’t guarantee happiness. For example, my close friend spends more than 2 hours a day in rock climbing after his office hours. Although, he is quite good at this but I have never seen him happy after his training gets over.  Instead, I have found him mentally drenched as well as tensed.

At the other end of spectrum, it is abundantly clear that indulging into less difficult events bring definite happiness. In general, to pursue such hobby, person does not need to allocate and spend significant time and finance in learning as well as in continuing. To illustrate, I have seen numbers of people whose primary hobby is singing, reading or even playing chess, are happiest person on earth.

The state of affairs relating to this matter in my country, Australia, is not a great deal different from the experiences of nations throughout the world.

At the end of day, when all is said and done, I pen down saying that difficult hobbies are time and resource intensive and not in realm of every person.  I strongly believe that less challenging hobbies are much more enjoyable as everyone including kids as well as old people can give hands on regardless their economic situation.

Write a letter to your college’s administration department complaining about the college’s facilities. In your letter include: -what the problem is -how this problem has affected you -what the college should do to fix this problem

Dear Sir/Madam

I am a third year history student and am writing this letter to bring to your attention about lack of amenities in college’s city campus.

Until quite recently, I was pleased with various facilities. These helped me a lot during previous assignments. However, since past few weeks, I have noticed that large numbers of computers in laboratory are not in working condition. On number of occasions, I have found them in maintenance mode. This situation is annoying and frustrating as due to non-availability of machines, I am not able to gather required information well in time. Thus, I left far behind in course schedule.

I urge concerned department to allocate skilled resource and required budget to repair all computers in one go. I strongly believe that by temporary shutting down research facility for a one week to carry out maintenance work will bring convenience to all students. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I appreciate your concern and I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Vishal

There is a historical building in your town and the city council wants to pull it down, because there is no money for repairs. You are not happy with this decision. Write a letter to the city council and say – Why is the building important? – Suggest a solution to finance the repairs.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Vishal from Edgecliff, Sydney. I am writing this letter to bring to your attention to council’s latest assessment on bringing down Town hall.

Until quite recently, I had a great faith in local governing body’s decision making ability. Unfortunately, the recent resolution of building a shopping centre by pulling Town hall down does not make any sense to me. During my stay, I invariably found that it was has been built on rare architect and it is the last monument of its kind in entire Australia. Further to add, this is the oldest building of our suburb and home for numerous charity organizations.

It might be hard for municipality to arrange required finance for maintenance purpose. However, it is not impossible.  Local government can diverse funds by limiting sponsorship to less important events, for example, weekly footy game. Moreover, there should be reasonable access fee as well if people want to use it for social gathering functions. [Extra Start] I strongly believe that it will raise required awareness among junta and will give council enough time to have another look into this.[Extra End]

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I appreciate your concern and I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Vishal

Many people choose to work or live abroad because of the higher standards of living they can find outside their home country. Do you think this brings more advantages or disadvantages to the people who follow this path?

One doesn’t have to look far, in current circumstances throughout the world, to see that large numbers of people are migrating to developed country to live a healthy and successful life. [Extra Start] There is a school of thought which contends that primary reason behind migration is to live a high standard life.[/Extra End] There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that considerable numbers of human beings prefer to settle in advanced countries because of it offers ample advantages.

To begin with, it is abundantly clear that [//or To begin with, there is plethora of reasons why people move from underdeveloped region to progressed region. Chief among them is] developed nations have strong health care system, well surrounded and supported by solid infrastructure. This brings longevity in life. For example, the average life expectancy in Australia is roughly decade higher than that found in neighbouring countries like Indonesia.

Perhaps, most importantly, it is immediately apparent that education quality is much more superior as well as advanced. Numbers of reports have proved that migrated students have far better chances of securing well paid job. In my personal experience, I met enormous numbers of individuals from Nepal who are pursuing their masters in Australian universities. These people told me that they are getting invaluable learning and plenty job offers on each passing day.

The state of affairs relating to this matter in my country, United States of America, is very similar to the way things are in most developed nations throughout the world.

At the end of day, when all is said and done, I pen down saying that there is no harm in uprooting and planting existence from developing countries to developed countries. Life is short and everyone has a right to live a healthy, financially secured and pleasant life.
